Situation
A small group of female L&D professionals in Peru came together with a common goal: Expand their professional toolkit by becoming certified to administer the SEI, an emotional intelligence assessment used with over 250,000 people around the world. In their work as executive life coaches and organizational consultants, they wanted the SEI to take their practice to the next level.
Solution
Each of the women signed up for the EQ Assessor Certification, a 4-day full immersion on Six Seconds’ philosophy, methodology and tools. At the end, upon becoming certified, they would be able to administer the SEI and debrief clients on the results. As a precursor to the live course, each of the women took the SEI and had a 1-on-1 debrief of their SEI results with Fiorella Velarde, Six Seconds’ Regional Network Director for Latin America. The purpose was to experience the SEI for themselves and identify both their strengths and the areas where they needed to grow their abilities to improve personal or professional outcomes. After attending the EQ Assessor course, they participated in a series of 4 group coaching calls intended to gain further insight into how to to best use these EQ tools in their personal lives and professional practice.
Results
At the end of the 6-month process, the data from their post-assessments showed remarkable growth – and the women reported feeling more intentional, more purposeful, and more empowered to get the results they want at home and at work.
