Mentoring Activation Profile
Mentoring starts with a MAP. The Mentoring Activation Profile (MAP) is designed to give you insight into your mentoring style and to support you to engage in high-impact mentoring. Download a sample report or contact us to learn more.
The MAP measures the critical Elements for high-impact mentoring and leadership, presenting your prevailing style and supporting action to grow the EQ-based Factors to enhance your effectiveness.
Why use the MAP?
Time is valuable, and we want to create an impact and get better results, faster. We can create an impact when we balance the equally desirable outcomes of achieving the objectives we set, increasing knowledge, and building collaboration – the MAP shows you how.
Whilst designed for the context of mentoring, the MAP is a versatile tool, applicable in any one-on-one interaction where it’s important to enhance relationships and outcomes.
What is in the MAP?
Each profile is unique, underpinned by Six Seconds’ validated Survey of Emotional Intelligence (SEI) assessment.
The MAP is presented as a workbook, facilitating a self-directed journey to maximise the benefits of mentoring, or to enhance leadership capability.
The Framework behind the MAP is made up of three parts: the Elements in the framework connected to our desired outcomes, our Mentoring Style, and the underlying Factors which we can leverage and develop to change the way we show up as a mentor.
The four styles which result from the relationship between the elements are Balanced, which is what we are aspiring to, Transactional, Ad hoc, and Social.

For your clients: Get certified today, with the “start anytime” online course. You don’t need to be a Six Seconds’ SEI Assessor to be able to add the MAP to your toolkit. As a level-A psychometric assessment, the MAP doesn’t need to be debriefed, making it the perfect introductory profile to share with new clients, as a tool to use in group settings, or to help your clients gain a different perspective on how they are showing up in their one-on-one interactions.
